Community Development Worker Henbury/Brentry Area

HOURS: 35 hours per week 

SALARY: £23,240 pa (initial 12-month contract)

Bristol Charities delivers a range of activities and events for older people in the Henbury & Brentry area. We are now recruiting to the post of Community Development Worker, the role is to work with local residents 50+ to develop a range of user led activities which are inspiring, enrich lives, reduce isolation and loneliness, and promote active participation. Bristol Charities has a long-standing history of supporting older people in Bristol through day services and other Community Development Projects in the City. The Henbury & Brentry project is part of the Linkage network.

We are looking for a person with good community development work experience, excellent communication skills and with the energy and commitment to manage and further develop the project in Henbury & Brentry area.

The role will involve supporting the current activities available, supporting the advisory group of local residents which inform and guide the project development, liaising with existing groups and community leaders on how to extend activities.

The successful applicant will be a caring, organised, practical hands on self-starter who can build positive empowering relationships with all sectors of the community and have a proven record managing projects and events.
