Bedminster & Southville

Welcome to the Bedminster & Southville Hub

St Monica Trust has been working with the community in Bedminster, Southville and Ashton for over 10 years to reduce loneliness and isolation amongst older people.

We have achieved this through working in partnership with a host of local community members as well as different local organisations, sharing the vision to help older people live more fulfilled lives. Our work in BS3 is supported by Bristol Ageing Better.

Led by our local Advisory Group, we help set up and run a varied programme of activities. We also run a Befriending Scheme, offering companionship and friendship for older people in their homes and also facilitate a Partnership Network of local organisations working with older people.

get involved

We are always looking for enthusiastic and knowledgable individuals to help run LinkAge's Bedminster and Southville hub. Below are several different opportunities that you can get involved in. Whether you have an hour or a day to spare, we will hopefully be able to find something extremely worthwhile for you to be involved with.

Bedminster Advisory Group needs new members. St Monica Trust's Advisory Group are made up of local older people who provide great insight into their community, helping to inform and advise St Monica Trust on what can be done to help build community spirit, through activities and events. Please contact Dan Lewin on 0117 305 2365 if you'd like to find out more.

St Monica Trust also runs a Befriending Scheme for isolated older people in the BS3 area. If you know someone who would benefit from Befriending or if you'd like to volunteer as a Befriender then please call Karen Bennett on 0117 305 2365.

Love to walk? Fancy volunteering to become a LinkAge walk leader and lead walks for older people? We are always looking for new Walk Leaders to join our team. Full training is provided. Please contact Dan Lewin on 0117 305 2365 to find out more.

Do you love to paint, have a passion for singing or perhaps you're a keen cook or gardener? If so, why not share your skill with us? This could be setting up an activity or volunteering at an existing one, there is always a way for you to get involved. Contact 0117 305 2365 to find out more.
